Events During Lent 2026

Ash Wednesday lunch 18 February

The annual Churches Together in Hitchin Ash Wednesday lunch will take place at Holy Saviour Church, 12.30pm onwards in the church hall. Modest but tasty food, good fellowship, an opportunity to give to Christian Aid's work among the poorest of the poor - all are welcome.

Churches Together in Hitchin Lent Discussion Groups

Groups will run from Sunday 22nd February through to Palm Sunday (29th March). Meeting in homes or in churches, these groups work in various ways. Some are established just for the five weeks of Lent, some gather fortnightly, and some existing groups from CTiH members that meet all year pause for these weeks to welcome extra people from other churches, before resuming their usual study program. There's almost certain that there is an event going on when you're free!

This year's study material is Acts of Hope by Embrace the Middle East. Each study reminds us of Acts of the Apostles that can encourage us and inspire us in our own age.
