Reflections from the Barkers July 2020 [10 mins] - hear from our
BMS link missionaries in Nepal, who joined our online worship on 26 July
We gather onLINE EACH Sunday at 10.30am - everyone is INVITED to worship with us!
We come as we are to worship, there's no rules or dress codes you need to follow. If you're new to church or just to us, someone will always greet you as you arrive. After the morning service, we invite you to stay on and have tea and coffee in the entrance area.
At our morning services, the younger people stay in for the first part of our worship, then after a short family-oriented message, they leave to continue with their own activities in ‘Jam Club’ - the ‘Jesus and Me Club’. Jam Club has separate groups based on the school academic years - for more details, click here.
Evening services tend to be more quiet and reflective than the morning ones and we don't run Jam Club, however Youth Mix often meets at the same time in the church hall.
Our other services
We have a number of “4-5-6” services throughout the year where we meet for worship at 4pm, join in tea at 5pm, and are home by 6pm. Our services are open and friendly and we want everyone attending to feel a key part of our worship of God, through our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Twice a month we have our Communion services, which are generally on the 1st Sunday in the month at our morning service, and the 3rd Sunday in the month at our evening service. We have an ‘open’ Communion table and everyone who loves our Lord Jesus Christ is welcome to join in and share bread and wine with us.
At least once per term we have a Parade Service at which the members of our Scout and Guide troops join with us at a family service.
We use a mixture of modern songs and traditional hymns and the New International Version (NIV) Bible for worship. Our services are amplified and we have a T-loop system for those who are hard of hearing; for those who can't attend or just want to catch up, we offer Listen:Again - our on-demand catch-up service.
