supporting phase hitchin

As a member of Churches Together in Hitchin (CTiH), we support the charity Phase; they help children and young people through the struggles of life and provide opportunities to develop their spiritual, social, moral and cultural understanding.

Since the first Schools Worker was employed back in 2002, we have backed and supported Phase through prayer and fundraising as they expanded from RE lessons, assemblies and lunch groups at Hitchin Boys School to now working in all three secondary schools as well as in primary schools, helping year 6s with the transition to secondary school.

Key secondary school areas focus on wellbeing, anxiety and self-harm. Phase also coordinate regular town-wide events, summer camps and Time Trek, the holiday club for primary school children as well as offering regular training for youth and children's workers called Fuel.

Our Jam Club Coordinator Amanda has been volunteering for Phase since 2015, and a year later, Helen Bainbridge was appointed as the joint WRBC-Phase 'Schools and Youth' Worker; just earlier this year, we agreed with Phase to extend Helen's contract!
