Welcome to our church website!
Through what you see and read here, we hope that you will want to come and meet us in person, not least because there’s such a temptation in writing for a website to make everything look great, to show off a little, if you like, in the hope that you will want to come and find us for real. Yet “for real” is a much deeper exercise too.
For real, we are a group of people of mixed ages and mixed outlooks gathered together around our faith in Jesus Christ; we love our church and all it seeks to be and to stand for; we get on well with each other and often have a great time together; we are interested in others locally, nationally and internationally, and seek to do what we can in outreach and service.
But for real, we are also a people who know that life is not always good, and faith is not always easy. Amongst us there is pain and grief, and as ‘your hurt is in my heart’ we seek to pray for and to care for one another; we have experienced brokenness and disappointment, yet we seek to receive God’s grace and to know God’s peace as we journey forwards.
Another church in a promotional video says something that we also believe and seek to live out – “at our church it is OK to be not OK” ... now that’s for real! And if that appeals to you, come and find us for real yourself.
