ACTIVITY
ACCESS TO CHURCH AND HALL DURING BUILDING OF EXTENSION
BETWEEN THE DATES OF 3RD MARCH 2008 AND THE COMPLETION
OF THE WORK IN AUGUST 2008
RISK
Risk of accident or injury to all users visiting the
site of Walsworth Road Baptist Church during the building
of an extension and new entry area for the above church.
ACTIONS
All users and visitors to Walsworth Road Baptist Church,
Hitchin, are instructed to regard the whole site as
a builders’ site during the time of construction. Builders
sites are dangerous areas and all visitors to the church
and hall MUST abide by any instructions given.
The area fenced off by the contractors during this
time between the church and hall and to the rear of
the hall is a secure area and no person not authorised
to gain entry is to attempt to do so.
There will be times during the working day between
the hours of 07.30 and 1730 hrs when additional instructions
and restrictions will be in place depending on the stage
of the construction and the equipment on site. All users
of the church and hall MUST obey any instructions given
by the builders representatives.
During the construction period there will be limited
parking and all drivers are instructed to take extreme
care when driving in front of the church and hall. There
will be a one way route entering from Walsworth Road
by Harrison Court and exiting via the roundabout at
the junction of Walsworth Road and Highbury Road. There
will be no entry to the rear of the church and hall
via Highbury Road as this entrance will be fenced off
for builders use only. Visitors to the church or hall
are asked to park in the public car park in Walsworth
Road during the construction period.
All users, parents and group leaders MUST take responsibility
for group members visiting the site and be particularly
aware of the risks to children and young people. ANY
PERSON found entering or attempting to enter the fenced
off area will be severely reprimanded and may be only
allowed supervised access to the hall or church.
The above instructions are issued in accordance with
the Health and Safety requirements regarding building
sites and the requirements of our insurers.
