E100  –  yes, it’s essential!

Many of the church family undertook our Whole Church Whole Bible reading challenge during 2010, one spin-off of which were the number and variety of questions raised;  sometimes these were about details in a particular episode; others related to the over-arching story of the Bible.  

As a follow-up to 2010, we are encouraging everyone in 2011 to go on reading the Bible, through a selection of readings called E100.  “Essential 100” offers a framework for the Bible as a whole, helping to identify key themes and characters.  There are 50 readings from the Old Testament and 50 from the New Testament arranged in groups of five Bible readings usually under a common theme.  Click the leaflet link below to download a leaflet with the chart of E100 references, and take time each week to read and consider the five readings.

Join us on Sundays as twenty services this year are being allocated to reflect, explore and understand the message of the five readings.

Biblefresh

WRBC has also registered with Biblefresh, an exciting initiative across the churches in this 400th anniversary year of the King James Version of the Bible.  This commits us as a local church to:

· read the Bible together as a church,

· invest in training the whole church to understand and apply the Bible to our lives,

· raise money to translate the Bible for Burkina Faso,

· help people experience the Bible in new and creative ways.  

E100 helps us in the first two of these; members of JAM Club are raising money for people to have Bibles, and the rest of us will be doing our bit too!  Already in our worship this year, we have encountered Scripture in different ways, with plenty more planned!
