Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts
|
The Church has a long tradition of sponsoring Scouts
and fully supports the aims and ideals of the Scout
Association, which are "to promote the physical, mental
and spiritual development of young people so that they
play a constructive role in society".
Beaver, Cub and Scout meetings are run for boys and
girls from 6 years to 14 years. Membership is open to
anyone of the relevant age, whether connected with the
Church or not.
The District Explorer Scouts section is open to young
people between the ages of 14 and 18.
Every encouragement is given to the members to attend
the regular Family Services and for their families to
join them.
The Church tries to provide adult leadership from members
of the Church and congregation, and adults willing to
become uniformed leaders or helpers are particularly
needed.
Meetings are generally held in the Church Hall, except
the Explorer Scouts who meet at 111 Walsworth Road,
next to the Church.
