Building project
For many years the Church has found that the buildings
built in the 19thcentury are becoming less
suitable for the needs of a active Church in the 21
st century. We need to improve access for the
disabled, modernise facilities to meet current regulations,
and provide additional space to meet the needs of our
Church, so that we can better serve God and our local
community. Yet we want to preserve the wonderful character
of our existing building.
After prayerful consideration the Church engaged the
services of an architect to turn this vision into a
practical building project, which has resulted in the
idea of creating an additional building between the
existing buildings, and reworking the entire Church
Hall. An outside impression will look something like
this.
Our current situation is that we have planned our project
in detail over the past two years, we have gained planning
permission, and we have competitively selected a building
contractor, and will be starting work in March 2008.
The cost of this major work will be a total of 365,000.
We have already raised 300,000, and so still have a
funding gap.
